Hamosa Beach (State of California, USA) is the birthplace of beach volleyball.
It comes from volleyball and is played between two teams of two people. It started as a beach sport in the United States and became an official sport after the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. Female teams have been continuously participating in the Olympic games since their official introduction during the Atlanta 1996 games.
